Servo Buddy Support

We understand that sometimes things don’t go as smoothly as expected but we’re here to help. We take every precaution to ensure your Servo Buddy functions flawlessly from the moment you take it out of the packaging until you retire your bike, but even so, sometimes things happen. Below is a couple of suggestions to try and get you back on the road (or track!) quickly, but if you continue to experience problems please don’t hesitate to Contact Us, we are here to help!

1) Verify that the Servo Buddy is actually the problem! By design the Servo Buddy only stops the fault light from indicating due to the exhaust servo motor being removed (or broken), the light will still function normally for all other faults and an illuminated fault light does not mean that the servo motor is the problem. It is recommended to follow the manufactures method for checking the fault code to see what the problem is. If it is listed as anything other than the exhaust servo motor there is a seperate issue on the bike that should be checked out. If the code is for the exhaust servo motor continue on below.

2) The next thing to check is the most easily damaged portion of the Servo Buddy, the connector pins, these pins are thin pieces of metal that make the electrical connection between the Servo Buddy and the Motorcycle. Because these pins are so thin they can easily be bent which can cause the unit to not function correctly, all 5 pins must have good electrical connection. Make sure the pins are straight, clean, and corrosion free (on both the Servo Buddy and the motorcycle wire harness. When the connectors are connected to the motorcycle make sure they fully seated and lock into place.

3) Verify the Servo Buddy is plugged into the correct connectors, often times the motorcycle manufacturers will reuse the same connectors multiple times on a single model, the Servo Buddy should only be installed onto the connectors the exhaust servo motor was removed from.
